A suspect has been identified in the fatal shooting of two men in Jamul last Friday night, sheriff’s investigators said.
Danny Alex Formiller, 29, an auto broker, is being sought by homicide detectives as a suspect in the killings, authorities report.
Fernando Rodriguez, 21, of San Ysidro, and Felix Beltran, 22, of San Diego, each died of a gunshot wound to the head in the parking lot of a convenience store near Steel Canyon Road and California 94, officials said.
The men were reportedly shot while passengers in a car near Prairie and Lawson Valley roads, Sgt. Manny Castillo said in a report.
According to the report, Rodriguez, Beltran, and the car’s driver, Armando Almaguer, 20, went to a Prairie Road home to collect a debt.
While there, the three men inside the car reportedly got in an argument with Formiller, who was outside the car, Castillo said. Formiller allegedly fired into the car hitting Rodriguez and Beltran, Castillo said.
Almaguer, who was uninjured, drove Rodriguez and Beltran to a convenience store for help about 6 p.m., officials said. Rodriguez and Beltran were pronounced dead in the store parking lot, roughly 10 miles from Prairie Road, officials said.
