COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Mejer, Johnson Lead Christ College Irvine to Sixth in a Row

Gitte Mejer had 19 points and Wendy Johnson had 18 to help Christ College Irvine to an 86-63 victory over California Lutheran in a nonconference women’s basketball game Tuesday at Christ College Irvine.

Stacey Giem added 13 points, including three three-point shots, for the Eagles (6-1), who won their sixth consecutive game.

Cal Lutheran is 3-4.

In other nonconference women’s basketball:

Point Loma Nazarene 82, Chapman 62--Melody Earle scored 19 points for Chapman but the it wasn’t enough to prevent the Panthers’ ninth consecutive loss. Stacee Eggers had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Point Loma Nazarene (4-3).

Each team shot only 37% from the field, but the Crusaders (4-3) made 32 of 35 free throws. Christy Stevens added 19 points and Lori Carper 14 for PLNC.

Tamara Lewis had 12 and Natalie Ramirez had nine for Chapman (0-9).
