PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Who Knows Which Team Will Show Up This Week?

Share

The Raiders are the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of the NFL and Coach Art Shell isn’t sure why.

Since losing their first four games, the Raiders have played like a different team from week to week.

They are coming off a 28-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

“It shows that they are capable of playing good football if they go out and practice good and then take it out to the football field on Sundays,” Shell said. “They just haven’t been doing that all year.”

The Miami Dolphins, the Raiders’ opponent Monday night, have also had problems with consistency. The Dolphins won their first six games but have lost five of their last seven.

Tight end Ethan Horton has not practiced this week because of the death of his father but is expected to join the team in Miami on Sunday. . . . Before wide receiver Sam Graddy can be activated for Monday night’s game, the Raiders have to make room on their roster. One possibility is putting linebacker Riki Ellison on injured reserve. Ellison did not play last Sunday because of an injured toe.
