1 Killed, 4 Hurt in Shooting at Gas Station
One person was killed and four people wounded--three critically--in a drive-by shooting late Sunday at a gas station on Gage Avenue just east of the Harbor Freeway, authorities said.
The person killed and one of the wounded were bystanders who pumped gas and washed windshields for tips, said Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Paul Gutierrez.
None of the victims were identified and few details were available late Sunday, police said.
The shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Two of the victims tried to drive away from the scene but were able to go only a few blocks east to Gage and San Pedro Street before stopping, police said.
