2 Held in Port Hueneme Slaying
Port Hueneme police arrested two men Tuesday evening in the slaying of 33-year-old roofer Ramiro Mendoza, who was found shot to death in his closet Nov. 27.
Police arrested Celestine Camacho and Juan Rojelio, both 18, on suspicion of murder in what police said was a drug-related homicide.
Mendoza’s body had been found by his ex-girlfriend, who went to check on him after friends said he was not answering the door in his ground-floor apartment in the 800 block of Jane Drive.
Camacho and Rojelio were booked into Ventura County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
Police are continuing the investigation and expect to make more arrests, they said.
