Western’s rugged defense limited Fullerton to one field goal in the first 11 minutes of the game en route to a 57-30 victory for the championship of the Fullerton Holiday Tournament Friday night at Fullerton High School.

Western (8-1) outscored the Indians, 16-3, in the first quarter to record its eighth consecutive victory.

“We have to depend on our defense because we are not a scoring machine,” said first-year Western Coach Matt Cavanaugh. “Don’t expect us to score many games in the 70s.”
