11 Motorists Injured When 8 Vehicles Crash on I-15 Near Nevada Border
Eleven people were injured in a crash involving at least eight vehicles Saturday afternoon on Interstate 15 near the Nevada-California border, officials said.
Three of the injured were flown by helicopter to Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. Two were treated and released and a third victim was in stable condition, a nursing supervisor said.
Eight others were taken by ambulance to University Medical Center. Seven people were released by Saturday evening and the eighth victim was hospitalized overnight with a broken leg, a nursing supervisor said.
The accident occurred on the main route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas about three miles past the Nevada border.
The cause of the crash was not determined and investigators were still at the scene by nightfall, the Highway Patrol said.
At least one car was on fire after the crash, said a dispatcher for the Clark County Fire Department, which sent two fire engines and two ambulances to the scene.
