Graphic artist Tony Giaimo’s design of rabbit people aboard a country wagon has been selected as the winner of the badge design contest for next year’s Conejo Valley Days, officials said.

It is the 11th time the Newbury Park artist has taken top honors in the annual contest, officials said Wednesday. Giaimo won the badge contest in 1974, from 1976 to 1983, and last year.

Giaimo also created the official logo of the Conejo Valley Days, a western hat with the letters “CVD” on its crown, officials said.

His badge design was selected from among several entries submitted by local artists and children. It depicts rabbits wearing Western-style clothing aboard a country wagon. Conejo is the Spanish word for rabbit.

The annual festival is scheduled for April 28 through May 2. Badges will be available for sale after March 21. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Western Styles and Country Smiles,” officials said.
