Immigration Controversy
As much as I have admired George Ramos for his truly Chicano-representative column, I find his defense of the invasion this country is experiencing alarming (“Bashing Illegal Immigrants Is on Today’s Menu,” Dec. 14). People don’t come to this country to have babies? I find it incredible that someone on your staff would be unaware of the midwife businesses that line the streets on the U.S. side of the border towns from Tijuana to Matamoros. Ramos would do well to listen to his mother; she knows best.
