Homeless Man Beaten to Death
A homeless man who had lived for months underneath a freeway overpass in Lake View Terrace was found beaten to death early Thursday morning near his makeshift home, Los Angeles police said.
Jose Salvador Ramirez, 36, was discovered amid shrubs beneath the junction of the Simi Valley and Foothill freeways, authorities said.
Ramirez, an undocumented transient from the Mexican state of Michoacan, had lived beneath the freeway for the past few months, police said. His body was discovered shortly after midnight by other homeless men and Ramirez’s brother, who also lived on the tree-lined hillside beneath the freeway.
Foothill police said they have no motive or suspects in the case.
