From Times Staff Reports

A Newbury Park girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a woman outside a Thousand Oaks residence two weeks ago, authorities said Thursday.

The 16-year-old girl, whose name was withheld because of her age, was arrested Wednesday night by the Ventura County sheriff’s special enforcement detail, said sheriff’s Detective Ernie Montagna.

In addition to the attempted murder charge, the girl was also arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy and aiding or abetting a known felon, he said. The girl was taken to Ventura County Juvenile Hall.

Montagna said investigators are still trying to identify a second girl who they believe was involved in the Dec. 15 attack on Kristin McLuckie, 20, of Thousand Oaks outside a party at a house in the 2800 block of Los Robles Road.

Although police do not believe either suspect is a member of a gang, both have dated gang members in the past, said sheriff’s Lt. Ed Wyand.

“To my knowledge, they went to see someone at the party, and we believe there was a dispute over one of the males at the party,” Wyand said.
