From Times Staff Reports

A Ventura couple who allegedly videotaped their drug activities have been arrested on suspicion of selling rock cocaine after police searched their home, authorities said Thursday.

Dewayne Jourdain, 30, and Wanda Jourdain, 35, were taken into custody at their West Barnett Street residence Wednesday morning after police served a search warrant, said Ventura Police Sgt. William Bogner.

The arrests culminated a two-month investigation during which officers observed what they believed to be drug-related activities at the house, Bogner said.

Two others who were at the house at the time of the search were also arrested. Albino Martinez, 24, and Katrina McMurray, 18, were each arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, Bogner said.

Police recovered about three-fourths of an ounce of rock cocaine at the residence and a large amount of stolen property, Bogner said. The Jourdains were also arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

Among the recovered property was a video camera that Bogner said shows the Jourdains packaging, selling and using rock cocaine. “They made a comment on the tape about how much trouble they would be in if the wrong person found the tape,” Bogner said. “It is hilarious.”

The Jourdains were being held at Ventura County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, while Martinez was being held in lieu of $5,000 bail. McMurray was cited and released.
