An Honor Runs Through It: “A River Runs Through It” has won this year’s Scripter Award, which honors the best film based on a book. Screenwriter Richard Friedenberg and author Norman Maclean will be given the fifth annual award, sponsored by the Friends of USC Libraries, at a Jan. 30 dinner held at USC. The other nominees were “Enchanted April,” “Howards End,” “Malcolm X” and “The Player.”
