Dutch Rennert is retiring as a National League umpire after more than 19 seasons in the big leagues.
Rennert, 58, has complained of weakening eyes and knees. He umpired his first National League game on Sept. 7, 1973, and joined the league full time in April of the following season.
He umpired the World Series in 1980, 1983 and 1989.
