School Spending
It is interesting to note that while state Sen. David Roberti (D-Los Angeles) is seeking a probe of LAUSD school budget decisions (Jan. 1), he fails to point out educational budget decisions made by the state Legislature. It wasn’t all that long ago that California ranked near the top in the nation in per-pupil spending but now ranks 41st in the nation, more than $900 less than the national average, and half of what is spent in New York.
