The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of two suspects in the robbery and shooting death of a pizza parlor employee in Porter Ranch, Los Angeles police said.
Presenting composite drawings of the pair, Lt. Daniel J. Lang said Councilman Hal Bernson made the request Tuesday for the reward. The composites were done by police with the help of another employee and customers in the store.
The gunman was described as a Latino male, age 19 or 20, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a thin build and a ruddy complexion. The second man is also a Latino, age 19 or 20, about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with a thick mustache. He was wearing a baseball cap with the word Cowboys on the front.
Police said the pair entered Ameci In & Out Pizza & Pasta restaurant at 11229 Tampa Ave. about 6 p.m. Thursday. They approached Assistant Manager John Holden of Chatsworth, who was at the cash register.
They demanded money, and Holden handed the robbers $450 in the register, police said. The gunman shot Holden once in the upper torso, and the pair fled.
Holden, 19, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he died a short time later.
Anyone having information on the suspects can call (213) 485-2531 or, after 5 p.m., (213) 485-3261.
