COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Christ College Women Roll in Second Half

Christ College Irvine trailed by three points at halftime but rallied for a 76-62 victory over Azusa Pacific in a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball game.

Christ College Irvine shot 62% from the field in the second half. Gitte Mejer scored 27 points, making 12 of 14 from the field, for the host Eagles (17-4, 5-0).

Genevieve Graff had 16 points and seven assists for CCI. Teammate Stacey Giem had 16 points, including four three-pointers, and Stacy Kirch added 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Azusa Pacific is 12-5 and 3-2.

In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball:

Azusa Pacific 102, Christ College Irvine 87--D’Andre Brown had 21 points and Brian Hazelwood added 15 points and 10 rebounds for host CCI (10-9, 2-2). Earic Peters scored 22 points and Bob Terry, a former Fullerton College standout, had 14 points, including four of seven from three-point range, for Azusa Pacific (18-2, 4-0).

In nonconference men’s basketball:

Southern California College 103, Christian Heritage 84--Danin Bryant had 18 points and seven assists and Mike West had 17 points and 10 rebounds for visiting SCC.

Grand Canyon 132, Pacific Christian 89--Charles Ross had 46 points on 19-of-31 shooting from the field for visiting Pacific Christian (13-9).
