Junko Asari won the Osaka International Women’s Marathon as Japanese runners swept the first four places.
Asari, 23, finished one second ahead of Tomoe Abe, 21, and tied the Japanese record of 2 hours 26 minutes 26 seconds set last year by Yumi Kogamo at the Osaka Marathon and matched by Yoshiko Yamamoto at last year’s Boston Marathon.
