The Region : Schools Chief Makes Grade
The superintendent of the Rowland Unified School District has been named one of the 100 best school managers in North America by the Executive Educator, a magazine for school professionals.
Sharon S. Robison, who has headed the district since 1987, was cited for her leadership and professional achievements.
The educational listing is similar to the Fortune 500 or the Forbes 400 for business and industry.
Robison, 53, joined Rowland Unified in 1965 as a high school English teacher and moved up through the ranks.
Rowland Unified serves 18,765 students in Rowland Heights and parts of Walnut, La Puente and West Covina.
