School Budget
The Los Angeles Unified School District budget obviously needs to be looked at from a fresh perspective. Why not form a committee of “real people” (perhaps Assembly Speaker Willie Brown would select them)--a few teachers, a few maintenance people, a few office personnel, and maybe even a few parents, to go over the budget line by line and see if they can’t find some fat to trim.
