Dying Man’s Plight Poses Dilemma
I was appalled by the comments made by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a supposed community leader, regarding a young man (illegal immigrant or not) clinging to life in hopes of seeing his mother one last time.
Rohrabacher’s comment that he “should have been sent home. I would rather have him go home and die than to stay and die and take funds. We can’t afford to provide this kind of service” lacks humanity, compassion and, most of all, dignity.
Perhaps, rather than utilizing his office as a tool to deport a dying illegal, Rohrabacher may better serve his community by investigating why Pedrosa’s stay in a hospital costs $250,000.
