Vermont tied an NCAA women’s record with 49 consecutive regular-season basketball victories by beating Maine, 68-67, in a North Atlantic Conference game at Orono, Me. Sharon Bay and Carrie LaPine each scored 19 points for the 15th-ranked Catamounts (22-0, 11-0), who matched the record set by Butler from 1978-1981.
