Eddie Hill, Cruz Pedregon and Mark Pawuk won at the Motorcraft-Ford Nationals National Hot Rod Assn. event at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Ariz. Hill, 56, won for the first time in almost a year, beating Pat Austin for the Top Fuel title in 4.924 seconds at 290.04 m.p.h. Pedregon had an easy time defeating Jim Epler in Funny Cars, with a time of 5.219 seconds at 263.31 m.p.h. Pawuk beat Larry Morgan in Pro Stock with a 7.204-second time at 191.53 m.p.h.
