Huntington Beach police arrested two 18-year-old men on suspicion of stealing a car at gunpoint after a chase that ended in Monterey Park, authorities said Monday.

The suspects led officers on a chase that topped speeds of 100 m.p.h. before crashing Sunday night in an area near North Atlantic Boulevard and West Garvey Avenue.

Khoi Nguyen of Alhambra and Ramon Sanchez of El Monte were arrested on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and auto theft, said Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Larry Miller.

Miller said a gunman approached Dexter Goseng, 21, of Huntington Beach in the 9000 block of Hyde Park Drive about 10:40 p.m. Sunday, demanding his car keys.

Goseng surrendered his keys and two men jumped into the car and drove away, Miller said.

A Huntington Beach police officer spotted the stolen car on the San Diego Freeway near the Springdale Street overpass and the chase began. It lasted about half an hour, Miller said.

No one was injured in the crash that ended the chase in Monterey Park.
