MISSION HILLS : 2 Locals Endorse Magana for Council

Share

Raymond J. Magana, a candidate for the 7th District City Council seat, has been endorsed by two labor union locals representing auto and construction workers.

Magana won the support of United Auto Workers Union, Local 645, which represents many former employees of the shuttered General Motors assembly plant in Panorama City, and Laborers International Union, Local 300, which represents 8,000 construction workers throughout Los Angeles, many of them Latino.

Magana is among 10 candidates vying to replace retiring incumbent Ernani Bernardi in the 7th District, which covers the northeast San Fernando Valley. Several candidates are courting labor endorsements, which could draw votes in the largely working-class district, which includes the GM plant.
