SANTA PAULA : Flooding Postpones Owens Track Meet

The annual Jesse Owens track meet scheduled for this morning in Santa Paula has been postponed because of flooding at the Santa Paula High School track, sponsors said Friday.

The meet, with competition in four age categories for boys and girls born from 1979 through 1986, has been rescheduled as a night meet for March 16, said Ed Mount of the Santa Paula Recreation Department.

Registration, to be held on the day of the meet, will begin at 5 p.m., with competition starting at 6 p.m. The meet will be held in conjunction with a previously scheduled meet of the Santa Paula Blazers. Participation is free.
