OUTLOOK

Another league team hit hard by graduation. Scheetz lost eight starters, including outfielder Ryan Roskelly, who hit .413 with four home runs and 10 RBI. He was the league’s MVP as well as a Times’ all-county first-team player. Also gone are all-league players Eric Ensman, Jason Hanmer, Mike Lorge and Jason Secoda. But Scheetz is confident he has another good team. His returning players are used to the school’s winning tradition in football as well as last season’s league co-championship with Brea-Olinda in baseball. Mebane was an all-league selection in baseball and played on Valencia’s Southern Section Division VI championship football team last fall with Eubanks and Draft. “We’re young and inexperienced,” Scheetz said, “but we’re very talented. We’ll improve as the season continues.” The biggest question is pitching. But Nagel is back and Joe Secoda will have to adjust to varsity play quickly.
