Chadwick will make its sixth appearance in a divisional final tonight, and its fifth under Coach Tom Maier. The Dolphins won titles in 1980 and 1985.
The Division V-AA championship game is the second meeting this season between Chadwick and Brethren Christian, which defeated the Dolphins, 43-36, Jan. 15 at Chadwick. The Dolphins have won 12 consecutive games since then.
“That was our last loss, and I benched three of my seniors down the stretch,” Maier said. “I told them if they were going to make that many mistakes, I can play underclassmen. I can live with their mistakes.
“We are a lot more aggressive team now.”
Joe Giaconi, who didn’t play in the first meeting with Brethren, has improved his game in the second half of the season and is averaging 12.5 points. Other standouts for Chadwick include Dylan Brown, Neil Thukur and Todd Ammons.
Brethren, which has won 17 consecutive games, is led by forwards Scott Thomas and Reggie Davis.
