Share

In the Division I final, Santa Paula defeated Calabasas, 2-1. The Cardinals overcame a one-goal deficit on goals by Joseph Jauregui and Albert Perez to defeat a Calabasas squad that had beaten them twice during Frontier League play.

Shayne Ferber scored at 29:25 for Calabasas (16-5-2) after taking a pass from Bhrett Haessig. Haessig broke free along the left wing after taking a give and go pass from Steve Thomas and then directed the ball to Ferber.

But Santa Paula tied it a minute later as a corner kick by Jauregui curved into the net. The Cardinals (17-8-3) score the game-winning goal at 47:53 when Albert Perez won a scramble in front of the net and pushed the ball through traffic.
