Rock in a Hard Place

In response to “Welcome to Rock, Kansas” and Calendar’s suggestion for an alternative Grammy site (Feb. 21):

You have made my day with Steve Hochman’s article. I was raised in Rock and still go back every year. At last I can tell my friends I’m from Rock--not Wichita. Until the article, no one outside of Kansas had ever heard of Rock.

Thanks to you, I no longer see it as a “rock” Rock but as a rockin’ Rock.

(By the way, there is a defunct missile silo there; perhaps they could use that as a grand finale to the program.)
