Not wanting to pour it on against Pacific Coast League rivals, Costa Mesa Coach Lisa McNamee held DiCamilli back during the regular season, often pulling her after two quarters worth of play. Have Costa Mesa’s playoff opponents received such kind treatment? “Before the playoffs, I talked to her and told her, ‘In league you only averaged 20 points a game and coming into he playoffs this is your opportunity to really prove what kind of a player you are,’ ” McNamee said. “I think she has met the challenge.” DiCamilli entered last week averaging 30.5 points in two playoff games. She scored 38 points, including 25 in the second half, of a 57-37 victory over Culver City in the Division III-A semifinals Tuesday. Saturday, she had 27 points and 13 rebounds in the Mustangs’ 72-55 rout of Rancho Alamitos in the title game. DiCamilli, who is headed for San Diego State next season, will lead Costa Mesa into the first round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs Tuesday when the Mustangs play host to Mission Hills Alemany.
