Batter Up!Penny Marshall will bring the film “A League of Their Own,” which she directed, to television for CBS later this season. Marshall will executive-produce the series and direct the first episode (written by the screenplay writers Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel), which will guest-star the film’s Jon Lovitz. Series regulars will be headed by Sam McMurray as Rockford Peaches Manager Jimmy Dugan (played in the film by Tom Hanks), with Carey Lowell taking over for Geena Davis as catcher Dottie Hinson and Christine Elise as her younger sister Kit Keller. Other series regulars include Tracy Reiner and Megan Cavanagh (reprising their roles as Betty (Spaghetti) Horn and plain jane Marla Hooch). An air date has not yet been set.
