Investigators of the boating accident that killed two Cleveland Indians pitchers have scheduled a news conference today to announce their findings.

A final report was being prepared Monday, Lt. Vinard Hitt of the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission said.

Pitchers Steve Olin and Tim Crews were killed and pitcher Bob Ojeda was injured when their bass boat slammed into a private dock on darkened Little Lake Nellie on March 22.

Agency officials looked into any possible wrongdoing, including drinking and excessive speed. The players were enjoying a day off from spring training in nearby Winter Haven.

Blood-alcohol tests were expected to be part of the accident report. Beer, a bottle of vodka and one empty beer can were found aboard the bass boat, which belonged to Crews, investigators said earlier.
