Yriarte won her eighth consecutive game as she pitched a no-hitter to defeat Jordan, 10-0. In a previous game, she also threw a no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Bell Gardens.

Other top prep performers:

Becky Hickey, a Lakewood High junior, was a key swimmer in a 113-44 victory over Jordan. She won the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley. She also was on the winning 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams.

Lindsey Hackett, a senior pitcher for the Millikan High softball team, was voted most valuable player of the Garden Grove Tournament. She pitched a no-hitter to lead the Rams to a 1-0 victory over Cerritos in the title game.
