SOUTHERN SECTION POLLS : Mater Dei Ranked Second in Baseball, Softball

Simi Valley and Mater Dei are ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in Division I baseball and softball in the recently released Southern Section polls, the first of the spring sports season.
Woodbridge, La Quinta, Rancho Alamitos and Laguna Hills are ranked in the Division III baseball poll, and El Toro, Marina, Fountain Valley, Foothill and Pacifica are in the Division I softball poll.
Sea View League schools University, Corona del Mar, Santa Margarita and Newport Harbor are ranked in the Division I boys’ tennis poll, with Sunny Hills of the Freeway League atop the Division II poll.
Capistrano Valley, Esperanza and Whittier Christian are top-ranked in their boys’ volleyball divisions.
