PREP TRACK ROUNDUP : Brea’s Conrad Sets School Discus Record

Brea-Olinda’s Chris Conrad set a school record in the discus as the Wildcats beat Valencia, 74-61, in an Orange League boys’ track and field meet Thursday at Valencia.
The senior’s throw went 166 feet 11 inches. Paul Johnson, the Southern Section Division 2-A champion in 1976, held the previous record at 163-9 1/2.
The victory was the Wildcats’ first over Valencia since 1969. Brea-Olinda is 4-0 in league.
Ace Riggins won the long jump (21-8 3/4) and 220 (23.3) for host Valencia (3-1 in league).
In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 112, Bolsa Grande 15--Senior Javier Schlinger won the 100 (11.5) and 200 (23.3) for Garden Grove (6-0).
In the Sea View League:
Irvine 73, University 62--Sean Coye won the 400 (51.5), 110 hurdles (15.4) and 300 hurdles (41.8) and Jim Weston won the high jump (5-6), long jump (20-2) and triple jump (43-3) for Irvine (3-3).
Saddleback 88, Corona del Mar 48--George Acreo set a Saddleback record in the discus with a throw of 167-2. He also won the shotput (46-6).
Woodbridge 91, Tustin 27--Tony Muniz took first in the high jump (6-2) and the long jump (21-6) for Woodbridge (6-0).
In the Sunset League:
Huntington Beach 99, Santa Ana 28--Ben Flamm swept the 1,600 (4:30.9) and the 3,200 (9:49.6) for Huntington Beach (2-4).
In Garden Grove League girls’ track and field:
Garden Grove 89, Bolsa Grande 37--Denise Lutz won the 800 (2:45.6) and 1,600 (6:19.6) for Garden Grove (6-0 in league).
In the Century League:
El Modena 75, Orange 33--Delphia Moore set a school record for Orange (0-3) in the 100 hurdles (48.3).
