THOUSAND OAKS : Conejo Valley Days Carnival to Begin Today
- Share via
Thousand Oaks’ biggest outdoor party kicks off today with the annual Conejo Valley Days carnival.
With or without cowboy boots, visitors can whirl around on flying bobsleds, test their stomachs in a gut-shaking scrambler, glide above the city’s tallest building in a Ferris wheel or enjoy 30 other rides.
Children can clamber aboard eight attractions in “kiddy land,” which is offering unlimited rides free tonight only.
For the feet-on-the-ground crowd, 60 nonprofit groups are sponsoring game booths and concession stands selling everything from basic burgers to Thai food.
New this year will be a home-improvement tent stocked with all sorts of gadgets and how-to advice.
Starting Friday, when the carnival remains open until midnight, live bands and other performers will entertain from the fairground stage.
Admission to the carnival will cost adults $3, students $2 and children $1. Each ride charges a separate fee, ranging from $1 to $2.50, payable in Conejo Valley Day coupons available at the fairgrounds.
On Saturday and Sunday, admission includes a ticket to the rodeo.
