Region : 5 Area High School Seniors Win National Merit Grants

Five Southeast-area seniors, including three from Whitney High School in Cerritos, have won $2,000 National Merit Scholarships.
The Whitney winners are Christian Chen of Westminster, Julie Park of Buena Park and Andy Hong of Cypress.
Darren Gates of Millikan High School in Long Beach and Alfred Lew, a Bellflower resident who attends Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, also received scholarships.
