COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Home Runs by Millan, Olsen, Betzsold Help the Titans Overcome UCLA, 7-6

Adam Millan, D.C. Olsen and Jim Betzsold homered to lead a 15-hit attack as the Titans defeated UCLA, 7-6, in a nonconference baseball game Wednesday at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles.

Dan Ricabal earned the victory, his ninth, in relief and Ted Silva earned his sixth save for the Titans (30-12), ranked seventh in the nation by Collegiate Baseball.

Ryan McGuire hit his 18th home run of the season for the Bruins (23-17), who led 6-1 after three innings.

Fullerton will begin a three-game weekend series against 12th-ranked Arizona Friday in Tucson.

In Big West Conference softball:

Cal State Fullerton 2-4, UC Santa Barbara 0-0--Tiffany Boyd pitched a three-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader sweep at Santa Barbara for Fullerton. Marci White and Miki Mangan had RBIs for the Titans in a 2-0 victory in Game 1.

In the second game, Cheryl Longeway struck out 11 and pitched a six-hitter in a 4-0 victory. Denise DeWalt and Traci Noggle each had two hits and an RBI for the Titans.
