A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a man at an automated teller machine in Tarzana, Los Angeles police said.

Officer Ken LeDuc of the West Valley Division said detectives arrested Erin Ledbetter on Thursday for allegedly shooting Ronald Sandlin of Encino at an ATM at the Bank of America branch at 18337 Ventura Blvd. more than a week ago.

Sandlin, 20, was making a withdrawal of $20 when the gunman approached him about 10:30 p.m. and demanded money, police said. When Sandlin refused, he was shot in the leg.

The Bank of America offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the gunman in the incident, but it is not known whether a tip led to Ledbetter’s arrest.

Ledbetter is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. Detectives believe that Ledbetter may have been involved in other ATM robberies as well, LeDuc said.
