Balancing Budget Library Expense

Share

All of us understand money is very precious at this time, so perhaps the Oxnard City Council feels that cuts to the library would be “easy cuts.”

Who is being harmed the most? Think of our children. Our libraries are an investment in the future.

Less access, fewer hours, less opportunity for our children to make use of the many services provided by the library would be a great education set-back. Second to our schools, the library offers the greatest learning tool that is available for free to all in the community.

I ask Mayor Lopez and council members Holden, Plisky, Pinkard and Herrera to listen to the people of Oxnard and perhaps pay a visit to the library to see the variety of people using the different services offered.

Please, no closing and no cutback of library hours.
