Wichita State Eases Into Another Final
In a College World Series that has featured nine comeback victories in 12 games, Wichita State’s 10-4 victory over Oklahoma State Thursday night was a departure.
Casey Blake drove in five runs as the Shockers advanced to the championship game for the third time in five years by taking the early lead and holding onto it before a record crowd of 20,520. They will play the winner of today’s game between Cal State Long Beach and Louisiana State in Saturday’s final.
Wichita State had seven hits and took advantage of 11 walks by four Oklahoma State pitchers. The Shockers scored five runs in the second inning.
