Havana (NBC Sunday at 8 p.m.), which is set on the eve of the Castro revolution, is lethargic when it’s supposed to be dreamy. Robert Redford stars as a wayward, high-stakes American poker player who falls hard for the Swedish wife (Lena Olin) of an anti-Batista freedom fighter (an uncredited Raul Julia).

In Never Say Never Again (ABC Sunday at 8:30 p.m.), the emphasis is back where it belongs in this 1983 James Bond adventure: on wit, intelligence and style. Sean Connery embodies all this and more, and for his return he’s got some adversaries worth his mettle: Barbara Carrera as the gorgeous and outrageous Fatima Blush and Klaus Maria Brandauer, who manages to be worldly, boyish and quite demented all at once.

Based on a true story, the 1991 TV movie Nightmare in Columbia County (CBS Sunday at 9 p.m.) details the sad case of South Carolina beauty pageant contestant Dawn Smith (played by Jeri Lynn Ryan) whose spunky younger sister Shari (Michele Abrams) was kidnaped by an obsessed admirer).

Michelle Lee and James Farentino, appearing in one of 1992’s strongest TV movies, expose the horror of domestic violence in When No One Would Listen (CBS Tuesday at 9 p.m.).

A more routine TV movie is the 1989 Perfect Witness (KCOP Thursday at 8 p.m. ) in which a U.S. attorney (Brian Dennehy) attempts to pressure a restaurant owner (Aidan Quinn), who witnessed a gangland killing, into testifying before a grand jury.

“Maverick” stars James Garner and Jack Kelly appear in the notable 1978 TV-movie pilot The New Maverick (KCOP Friday at 8 p.m.) to launch their wily nephew (Charles Grant) on his own series of adventures in the Old West.

In Norman Jewison’s 1982 Best Friends (KCOP Saturday at 8 p.m.), Goldie Hawn and Burt Reynolds are appealing as a screenwriting team who at last decided to marry, but the film presents its stars in the round only to heavily satirize all its peripheral people.

The 1990 Shipwrecked (CBS Saturday at 9 p.m.) is old-style Disney, a period high-seas adventure complete with a 14-year-old hero (Stian Smestad), pirates and buried treasure.

Bruce Beresford’s Breaker Morant (KCET Saturday at 9 p.m.) is that fine 1980 Australian movie, a taut, compelling courtroom drama about a tragic misadventure of military injustice. Edward Woodward, Jack Thompson and Bryan Brown star.
