Costa Mesa : Hughes Aircraft Donates Building

Share

Hughes Aircraft Co. has donated a modular building to the Coast Community College District, saving the district more than $700,000 if it had to construct a new building, college officials said.

Instead of having to pay for the building, the district was able to channel the money into educational programs at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Golden West College in Huntington Beach and Coastline Community College, headquartered in Fountain Valley.

“In this year of severe budget constraints, a donation like this becomes even more meaningful,” Chancellor Alfred P. Fernandez said at the recent dedication ceremonies. “The natural partnership between the business community and community colleges is increasingly important to both.”
