Bradbury : Councilman Added to Recall
Bradbury Councilman Tom Melbourn will face voters in a recall election Nov. 2 along with Mayor Audrey Hon, after the City Council passed resolutions Tuesday to add him to the ballot.
The election will be consolidated with statewide and school elections scheduled for that day, the council announced in a special meeting.
Residents in districts represented by Hon and Melbourn called for their ouster in the wake of allegations that former City Manager Aurora (Dolly) Vollaire spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on personal luxuries.
The district attorney is investigating.
Residents who launched the recall drives said the entire council, as well as the city treasurer and the accounting firm that performed annual audits, should have noticed something was awry with city finances.
