Party Cited Wins Bayakoa Handicap
DEL MAR — Party Cited, an 11-1 shot racing for the first time on dirt, rallied to win the $62,500 Bayakoa Handicap by 2 3/4 lengths over Wedding Ring at Del Mar on Monday.
Party Cited, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, covered one mile in 1:35 3/5 and paid $24, $11.20 and $4.80.
The victory was the third of the day for Delahoussaye.
Wedding Ring, a 10-1 shot ridden by Chris McCarron, finished 1 1/4 lengths ahead of 17-10 favorite Fowda and returned $11.40 and $5.80.
Fowda, ridden by Pat Valenzuela, was a half-length in front of Another Natalie and paid $3.
Following Another Natalie were Vieille Vigne, Saros On The Town, Striker, Miss High Blade and Screaming Laura.
