The Pleasant Valley Elementary School District has announced the appointment of two new principals to Los Altos Intermediate School and Las Colinas School.
Following interviews of nine candidates last week, the school board selected Robert Donahue, principal of a Malibu middle school, for the Las Colinas job, and Vincent Caviliere, assistant principal at DeAnza Middle School in Ventura, for Los Altos.
At Las Colinas, Donahue will serve as co-principal for one year with Dianne Anders before she leaves in fall, 1994, for the top post at the planned Tierra Linda School.
Caviliere will replace former Los Altos Principal Ruben Jimenez, who was transferred out of the junior high school into a district staff position.
Pleasant Valley Assistant Supt. Erich Anders said both Donahue and Caviliere impressed school officials during the interviews.
“They both have strong middle school experience so that stood out,” he said.
Las Colinas presently has kindergarten through eighth grades, but it will become a third- through eighth-grade school after Tierra Linda opens.
