Man in Truck Shot, Killed in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA — A 23-year-old man was slain Friday night while riding in a friend’s pickup, police said.
Marco Antonio Madrigal of Santa Ana was shot at least once in the head as he sat in the passenger seat of the truck. Police are investigating the shooting as a gang-related homicide.
The occupants of a white van fired several shots into the truck at the corner of McFadden and Orange avenues about 10:35 p.m., Sgt. Dick Faust said.
The truck chased the van down the street, and as it approached, a passenger in the van fired several more shots, striking Madrigal, Faust said.
The van sped off, and the driver of the truck dropped Madrigal off at an address on South Halladay Street, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
