Bodies of Woman, Man Found in Separate Remote Locations
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were awaiting autopsy results to determine what caused the deaths of a man and an unidentified woman, whose bodies were found in remote areas on Wednesday evening.
Rangers at the Angeles National Forest discovered the woman’s decomposing body, wrapped in opaque plastic sheeting, about 6:45 p.m. off Big Tujunga Canyon Road north of Sunland. Deputies estimated that the woman was between 25 and 30 years old and white or Latina.
Another body, found about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Antelope Valley community of Littlerock, has been identified. But deputies were withholding the man’s name until relatives could be notified.
The man’s remains were discovered by two men riding four-wheel-drive vehicles near the Pearblossom Highway and Stokeley Road, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said. There were no obvious signs of injury.
