A Positive Note on Today’s Youth
* Oftentimes we hear today of crime, violence, graffiti, drug abuse, etc. concerning our youth of today. I would like to tell of a very positive occurrence this summer in the parking lot of Thousand Oaks High School when the young adults were leaving summer school classes and my swim classes were starting.
I had just shut the trunk lid after retrieving some articles from the trunk and had left to go to my class at the pool. The classes had just gotten out, so there were several hundred students who would pass my parked car, which, by the way, had the trunk lid completely open, as it had not caught when I closed it. There were several tennis rackets, credit cards, my purse, checkbook, money and various other items in full view or easily obtainable.
After the hourlong class I returned to my car and to my dismay discovered the lid open. Not one single item had been touched. Let us give credit to these boys and girls for their honesty and courage of conviction. Thank you all.
